Natural Light Portrait Project

Directing poses confidently and making the most of natural light were two skills that needed real practice outside of client work. This personal project was the space to test both without constraints.

I handled every part of the shoot solo: art direction, posing guidance, and all camera work. I shot handheld using only available light, deliberately choosing midday conditions to learn how to work with hard shadows rather than avoid them. I also completed the full post-production, including photo retouching and skin editing.

The project sharpened my ability to direct subjects in a natural and relaxed way, and gave me a stronger eye for reading harsh light and turning it into something intentional. The retouching work also helped me build a cleaner, more consistent editing style.
